There are three events coming up at STEAMhouse to support those thinking of applying for the CreaTech Frontiers Foundations grant before the deadline on Monday 4 August.
CreaTech Frontiers Tech Demo session
Thursday 10 July 2pm - 4pm (drop-in)
Meet Richard Cornock and Chris Evans for a hands-on demo of cutting-edge creative technologies. This interactive session will showcase a range of professional equipment aligned with CreaTech themes.
How to Complete Your Funding Application
Friday 11 July 12pm - 1pm
Join the CreaTech Frontiers team at STEAMhouse for a Tips for Bid Writing session led by James Green from the University of Birmingham - a practical and insightful session designed to guide you through completing your application.
Meet The Academics
Tuesday 15 July 12pm - 1.30pm
A chance to meet some of the academic staff from the University of Birmingham and BCU who will be working with successful grant applicants on their projects.
These events are a good chance to meet others working in creative tech, develop your ideas, and get support if you're planning to apply for funding.
Spaces are limited, so please do book as soon as possible if you're interested. All events listed above are taking place in person at STEAMhouse, 4 Belmont Row, Birmingham, B4 7RQ.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Freelancers, micro-businesses and SMEs based in the West Midlands region (Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands county, Worcestershire)
Two or more freelancers, micro-businesses or SMEs are welcome to apply separately and mention their collaboration on the application form.
WHAT’S ON OFFER?
Workshops and mentoring
Free access to the createch labs and other core partner resources
Academic support for R&D - 5-10 days with EXPLORE grants and 10-20 days with EXPERIMENT grants.
EXPLORE £5k - Development of initial ideas for innovative content/products/services and introduction to collaborative R&D. Testing your ideas for human-centred applications of creative technologies.
EXPERIMENT £10k - Development of existing concepts/prototypes for innovative content/products/services through collaborative R&D. Progress your concepts, projects or prototypes for human-centred applications of creative technologies.
The total budget of this initial call is £250k for 30-40 grants.
