2 October 2025
Much-loved series Peaky Blinders will return with a bang to the BBC and Netflix, telling the story of a new generation of Shelbys, from Create Central Champion, writer and creator Steven Knight
The two new series, produced by Kudos (SAS Rogue Heroes, House of Guinness, Grantchester) and Garrison Drama (Peaky Blinders series 1-6, the Peaky Blinders film) for BBC iPlayer and BBC One, will be filmed at Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham, and will be set in the city.
Peaky Blinders Creator and Writer Steven Knight, says: “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride.”
Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, says: “Peaky Blinders is a worldwide phenomenon that’s boosted our tourism and global reach. We're proud to be working with the team bringing the production back to the Shelbys’ home of Birmingham and job opportunities will follow for local people to become part of this story. It’s this sort of backing from some of the biggest names in entertainment that will turn the West Midlands into the creative capital of the UK.”
Production for the two new series of Peaky Blinders is supported by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and is the first commission following the new BBC partnership agreement with the WMCA and Create Central to expand BBC and partner production investment in the West Midlands.
