Skills Accelerator is on the road!
10 July 2026
Do you work in film, TV or content creation in the West Midlands?
Are you looking to progress, step up or build your networks?
Or are you curious about screen careers and where your skills might fit?
The West Midlands screen sector is growing and Digital, Tech and Creative is one of the region’s priority growth clusters, creating real opportunities for local crew, freelancers and residents with existing transferable skills.
Productions including Peaky Blinders, MasterChef, The Hairdresser Mysteries, Great British Menu, Garden Rescues and Silent Witness are produced in the region. Digbeth Loc studios is open for business and the BBC's new Midlands headquarters at The Tea Factory in Digbeth is scheduled to open in 2027.
Join us for a Create Central Roadshow as we launch Phase 2 of the Create Central Skills Accelerator Programme 2026–2029.
You’ll hear from Create Central, Mission Accomplished, local industry professionals and alumni from previous Skills Accelerator programmes. Come along and find out about our upcoming training programmes and career development opportunities. Take part in informal roundtable conversations with our speakers and make new connections.
For people already in the industry — and people who want to be.
No jargon. No need to have it all figured out. Just bring your questions.
Roadshows will be taking place across the West Midlands from July to September.
Wednesday 29 July 6pm - 9pm at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley
Tuesday 25 August 6pm - 9pm at The Box, Fargo Village in Coventry
More dates and venues to be announced soon!
Create Central Skills Accelerator is delivered with the support of the BFI, awarding National Lottery funding, and match-funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority.
